Competent efficient instructive Listens! Careful to have all the information before decisions about treatment are recommended. VERY clear in sharing information about the condition/ case of the patient. Technology that he uses in explaining the condition is superior.

I have had a really good experience with Dr Westra. He is very smart and thorough. He has explored some ideas that others have not. I would absolutely recommend him as a neurosurgeon!!!

Excellent surgeon and also a very good listener. As a retired family doctor to me these are equally important and wonderful attributes.
The staff is polite and accommodating. The practice is very busy and appointments can be booked out. Just make one even if it’s a month or more. The staff will have the doctor review any referral notes and, especially important, any imaging studies then move up appointments for those who might meet the criteria for surgery.
Conservative non-surgical treatments are advised first in cases where it is appropriate.
Even though they are very busy there was no rushing and all my questions were answered.
Write down your questions first and bring them to your appointment is my advice.
We are most fortunate to have such a caring doctor in our community.
